The metal must feed straight in and the blades must cut straight down.
The metal sheets used to form the roof need to be cut to fit your roof before you can install them but fortunately this is easy to do with a few different tools.
Make sure that they perfectly align with your measurements and remember that being even a tiny bit off can cause irreparable damage to your corrugated sheeting.
Wipe the cut sheets.
Hold the snips loose in your hand and place the two blades around the edge that you d like to cut.
Another efficient way to cut corrugated metal sheets is by using electric shears.
This is true of off set snips as well.
Use tin snips or shears to cut lengths by hand.
It doesn t matter where the handles point it matters that the blades are perpendicular to the cut otherwise the metal will catch in the blades and you ll damage the metal and maybe your snips too.
Do not force the blade through the tin or you may cause damage.
Use your nondominant hand to hold the side of the metal.
The double cut design leaves clean and smooth edges on both sides unlike the single cut shear and doesn t leave too much waste.

We prefer double cut shears instead of single cut shears.
Always have the snips blades perpendicular to the metal sheet you are cutting.
This will not only brace it to keep it in place but you ll be able to pull it up as you cut.
You could also use a circular saw to cut lots of sheets more quickly and a nibbler to create rounded cuts.
Hold the side of the metal sheet and put your snips around the edge.
