Most of the holes in the inner metal door panel seem non functional so my naive plan is to remove the plastic sheeting totally cover all the inner metal panel holes with dynamat and put the clear plastic sheeting back on.
How to dynamat door panel.
You can apply dynamat in patches 25 50 area coverage to keep a specific panel from resonating or you can apply it over an entire area such as the floor doors or trunk to create a sound barrier and vibrational damper.
The outer metal door panel looks too hard to get at to cover with dynamat.
Dynaliner is a specialized foam pad that blocks heat reduces wind noise and isolates vibrations making it the perfect solution for door panels and when used in conjunction with dynamat extreme floors and firewalls.
I haven t pulled the door panels off yet but i imagine this stuff just keeps going.
Other products have specialized properties for specific panels.
This will maximize contouring and promote the best adhesion and performance.
It is insane how heavy it is with the dynamat.
Dynamat sound dampening products.
Take the roller tool and work the dynamat into all contours of the metal panel.
Apply the dynamat to the mounting surface with a dynamat roller tool.
Again taking a picture before you do anything is helpful.
Normally we wouldn t care but the drivers door needed work and i could barely pick the thing off the hinges.
Once you have removed the panel you can also unscrew the speaker if it s in the door and disconnect any wires if you need to.
Lift the protection under the door panel.
Start at one side of the material and work your way across.
