If you have a screw drive opener you ll need to grease several spots along the rail gear at least once or twice a year.

Put a thin layer of the grease included in the kit on the gear.
Pull the chain off the motor unit sprocket and out of the chain spreader.
Then install the helical gear assembly.
If the gears have screwed up teeth you can likely just replace them to solve the problem.
With the gears back in place tighten the chain as directed in your owner s manual.
Shine the flashlight directly at the gear set.
Replace the cover on the garage door opener plug it back in and start enjoying your now functioning garage door opener.
Remove retaining screws from the cover.
Reassemble the motor assembly and place it back in the opener.
Remove the outer nut and lock washer from the trolley threaded shaft and pull the threaded shaft out of the trolley.
