Next grab a paper towel and the wood glue.
Make a mark on the toothpick with a pen or marker so that you know about where it comes out of the hole.
This applies to holes drilled in wood and isn t meant for sheetrock.
If you are fixing just a few loose screw holes for something that has multiple hinges like a door you can put a wedge underneath it to support it while you unscrew the loose hinge and fix the stripped holes.
The first step is to dry fit the hole you are working to fill with the toothpicks.
