With the sill pan.
Install window flashing siding.
Run the tape over the jamb.
Start by nailing the corners in place under the house wrap at the sides and over the house wrap below photo 4.
Slide the top edge under the window fin then nail off the fin with roofing nails.
Cut the corner tape at 45 degree angles to allow for folding over and so the seam is completely flush with the window.
The flashing will be wrapped over the rough opening of the window which is what will be covered eventually by siding.
Cut back wrb weather resistive barrier a your wrb should be wrapped over the rough opening of the window.
This should be installed in a bed of caulking on the window frame before the wrb taped to the sheathing and then lapped by the wrb.
At the top tuck metal drip cap flashing under the siding and on top of the second layer of wrap.
How is window flashing installed.
It s important to cover all sides top bottom and corners.

Lap the flashing tape 2.
Use an old rag to remove any dirt or debris that may be there.
Pay attention to the raised ribs which provide a flat surface where the window frame rests.
Attach the flashing tape above the window and then slip the drip cap into the siding and attach to the tape.
Cut the drip cap to the correct size for your window.
Apply a bead of caulk to the felt and set the window in the caulk.
Install the flashing under the window level and tack the new window in place then cut a piece of aluminum flashing to width so it extends from the new window to overlap the nailing hem of the siding below.
Using a pry bar you will need to remove a layer of siding from above the window you want to install the drip cap on.

Then cut the center section to fit.
Install the sill pan flashing.
Install the trim just under the drip cap.
It should include end dams and if the wall includes a rain screen cavity a small gap 1 8 or so should be left between the flashing and head trim to allow moisture to escape.
The flashing is easy to cut with tin snips.
