I have contacted several hvac companies and all have refused to install in the attic for fear of it freezing then leaking through the ceiling.

I live in charlotte north carolina where the practice of putting the heater in the attic is relatively common many of the big builders do this to save square footage since we don t have a basement.
I m not sure what the real risk of freezing is in my situation or what other hazards come with an attic installation.
In my opinion the attic humidifier is not only risky but might well not be necessary.
